No. The City of LA. Bureau of Street Lighting authorizes only a few companies to install and remove banners on City premises. CR&A Custom Custom is an authorized vendor of street pole banners in Los Angeles
The city will only process permits with finalized artwork, which must be submitted with the permit application. Approval takes 48-72 hours.
Banner location requests are not guaranteed, they are reserved on a first,
first-served basis. You can reserve streets up to a year in advance.
City permit fees vary depending on the type of campaign.
Generally, non-profit organizations, conventions, trade shows, and city departments are eligible for campaigns.
Sponsor logos are allowed on banners, but can only take up to 20% of the printable space. Also, per/pole fees vary depending on the campaign and if sponsor logos are used.
Each permit is for three months, and up to three renewals may be permitted. So one campaign has a maximus allowable duration of one year.
The maximum size of each banner is 3 feet wide x 8 feet tall.
Liability Insurance coverage of $500,000 and a Bond of $1,200 on deposit with the Bureau of Street Lighting.
Ten business days if there are no controversial issues associated with issuance of the permit. Applications are approved on a first come first served basis by the Bureau of Street Lighting.
If you need to change a requested banner location or the dates of the campaign before the issuance of the permit, you must contact the Bureau of Street Lighting at (213) 847-1344.
